i'm obsessive compulsive!! nope..it's not cos i'm blogging again (ha..i'm blogging again cos if i leave it for another time..i'd completely forget what i wanna say!!). i'm obsessive compulsive cos i'm obsessively listening to bohemian rhapsody..and compulsively wanting to sing along but not really doing it cos the music is beautiful on it's own!! hahaha..don't worry..i doubt i'm really obsessive compulsive (by definition)..i mean..you don't see me washing my hands 1500000 times a day..every other minute right? ok..my point is...freddie mercury is a genius. listen carefully to bohemian rhapsody..he makes use of his beautiful vocals fully..and there are so many little things about the music..you'll never discover everything in one hearing (hence the repetition...) when i first heard glosz talk abt bohemian rhapsody..and how the first line is 'mamma..just kill the man, put a gun against his head, pull the trigger, now he's dead.' i thought to myself "hippie!!" hahha..yes..essentially..the message behind the music is one of suicide and utmost pessimism but think abt it..this guy had a lot of guts to write lyrics like that..music that involves so many accidentals and key transitions and tempo changes..melding so many genres as one..rock&roll, hippie music..yet keeping it all contemporary. it'll never be evergreen..it'll always be contemporary. (does that make sense? hahaha). he's a modern music genius.
Freddie Mercury was a great man..and i'm glad his music lives on.
